It is important for you to feel good about your connection with me, and your sense of whether your child / teen would feel comfortable with my style. Trust is essential for a good, working therapeutic relationship, and I value the willingness of families to trust me with their precious loved ones.
What kind of children do you see typically?
I work with all kinds of children at all levels of intensity and development (ages 3-22). Whether you and your child are struggling with a typical life stressor (like moving, divorce, change of schools, school struggles, etc) or an extraordinary stressor (like diagnosed mental illness, trauma, sudden loss of a loved one) play and family therapy can help.
How long does therapy last?
Play sessions are 45 minutes long. Teen sessions are 50 minutes. Family sessions may be 60-90 minutes depending.
Children working with me often start to make progress around session 6-7, so planning on close to 10-12 sessions would be a safe bet. 10-12 sessions is also a good duration for a strong family intervention. This being said, every family and child is different, and I am willing to be as flexible as needed based on what is going on for you and your family.
Weekly or twice monthly sessions are recommended. Monthly parent meetings will be a part of a child’s treatment.
What are your fees?
45 minute play sessions are $120.
50 minute individual (for teens or adults) sessions are $120.
Family sessions (including intake with parents) are $150/hour.
Phone calls are $2/minute.
I offer a sliding scale to anyone who finds the full fee excessive for their budget or prohibitive for receiving help.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not currently accepting Insurance. If you would like me to compile expenses over our time together to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, I am happy to do that.
How do we pay?
Payment is due on the day of the session, and I accept cash, check, Venmo or PayPal.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations need to be made 24 hours in advance. If you do not give the required notice, you will be charged 75% of the fee for the session, as that time is reserved in my schedule for you. I will be flexible the first instance, or if there are extenuating circumstances that prevented you from canceling on time.
