My goals as a supervisor
I provide supervision for clinicians who are passionate about skillfully serving children, adolescents and families with deep human empathy and sharp clinical insight. I can help clinicians grow their skills with heart-felt, personal and professional advice supported by years of experience and training. I want clinicians to feel held while they hold the lives of others in their caring and competent hands.
I am qualified to supervise candidates for LCSW, LPC and LMFT, as well as for clinicians working with children, adolescents and families.
My supervisory style
I like thinking with other clinicians about the best way to approach unique problems. I enjoy trying to figure out what is underneath a client's behavior, and brainstorming how to address it skillfully in session. I want to help therapists take a systems approach in their assessment of client issues.
My favorite challenges
I love working with clinicians that are in the thick of it, working with very challenging clients. I enjoy helping clinicians find their own resilience, as well as where they need to take better care of themselves. I want to work with people who are willing to look at themselves, and find their empathy even for the toughest clients. I want to support clinicians willing to express their love and compassion for clients, willing to see their clients as fellow humans.
My strengths
I have solid training and experience working as a trauma-informed supervisor for skilled therapists working with very tough clients. I have excellent assessment skills, and a strong mind. I have a sophisticated understanding of cultural and language needs, and have worked with a wide array of diverse clients. I have international experience and speak Spanish.
I am open-hearted and open-minded. I am good at creating a safe space for sharing personal struggles as well as staffing challenging issues with clients. I am timely, reliable, and available.
My ideal supervisee
I am looking for clinicians who are (or want to be) deep thinkers and who care about their clients. I want to empower them to be their best selves individually and in their relationships with others.
I am looking for clinicians who are curious about their own history and how this plays into their relationship with clients. These clinicians want to be excellent professionals as well as compassionate human beings. They are dedicated to serving others, and looking for the support they need to do that to the best of their ability.
